Everything, Everywhere, When Needed

Thank you God, for EVERYTHING! Everything, Everywhere, When Needed!

Me under the clouds, summer 2001 in the Carolinas.

Maybe they’re not glass balls,

The tasks we strive to juggle and keep in the air.

Maybe they’re more like clouds,

Clouds that move left to right or East to West,

And not up and down,

Never to crash to the ground or fall apart,

If we don’t catch them.

Trying to “keep up.” Our tasks, responsibilities, to do’s, are more like clouds, that do not require us to hold up. Like clouds, they move left to right or East to West. They don’t fall to the ground and crash. Our lives are more precious than the clouds, and the things that are most important in our lives are supported with or without our constant care if we ask God to provide.

Your blessings are like boomerangs, they will come back to you; perhaps different, but they are your blessings nonetheless. So don’t waste time worrying and trying to become a better juggler of your life’s tasks. Focus on being a better lover, of putting your love in action, of using your gifts to love yourself and others more, to enjoy your life and love ones more abundantly.

“Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.”

– from the 1956 film Auntie Mame

A feast, a banquet table has already been set for you, right before you, but you can’t always see it with your eyes, it’s found by feel, by that loving voice inside that tells you to trust and relax. It is not the voice that tells you negative criticism or incites fear, doubt, or hate. No, not that one. It’s the one that loves you and connects you to the needs of others, that beckons you to reach out to someone, to call, write, visit. It’s the one that says, “You can do this in spite of your present circumstances.” It’s the one that says, try anyway, let go of past hurts, and dwell on how you can celebrate today.

“You can do this in spite of your present circumstances.” - Truth

Celebrate seeing the sunrise or set, celebrate having a restful night’s sleep, celebrate not being alone, celebrate having time alone, celebrate a moment of peace, celebrate being able to use the bathroom unassisted, celebrate having assistance, celebrate being forgiven, celebrate taking baby steps towards a goal, celebrate visiting love ones, celebrate being in love, celebrate sharing love, celebrate breathing fresh air, celebrate learning from mistakes, celebrate having another day to try again, and celebrate being loved by God, the Most High. Ashé. Selah. Amen.
